
Alabama Renegades Win Home Opener

Alabama Renegades News Release
The Alabama Renegades (1-2) held the Shoals SmasHers scoreless in their first home game of the season, winning 19-0. The offense led by quarterback Katy Buckley gained 217 yards rushing. All three Renegades' touchdowns were scored with the running game. Buckley ran for 129 yards and one touchdown while running back Nicole Nall pounded out 64 yards and one touchdown. Fullback Teresa Finley rounded out the running game with 24 yards and a touchdown. The stifling Renegade defense was led by defensive end Jennifer Patton and linebacker Vicki Kennedy. Patton recorded eight solo tackles, five assists, and one sac while Kennedy made nine solo tackles with three assists and a sac. Strong safety Bird Gholston also had a stellar night making four tackles with five assists and an assisted sac.
The Renegades will continue their home stand, Saturday May 8, when they take on the Gulf Coast Herricanes at Goldsmith-Schiffman Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
