Alabama Renegades Ready to Launch into 2004 Season

The Alabama Renegades Women's Full Contact Football Team will kick-off their 2004 season this Saturday, April 17 in Pensacola, Florida. The Renegades will be taking on the 2003 Southern Division Champion Pensacola Power. The Renegades look to continue their football success in a new division this year, the Gulf Coast Division. Last year, the Renegades played in the Southern Division where they finished with a record of 6-2 and advanced to the second round of the playoffs. The Renegades have a solid core of returning players this year and a host of new players that on looking to make their mark on the field.

The Renegades will begin their home stand on May 1 when they take on the Shoals SmasHers. All home games this season will be played at Goldsmith Schiffman Field. The 2004 season will consist of four home games and five away games.

The Renegades are a part of the National Women's Football Association (NWFA), the largest league in the world for playing women's full contact football. This year 37 teams will play in seven divisions. The Renegades are part of the Gulf Coast Division which also includes the Gulf Coast Herricanes (Mississippi), New Orleans Blaze (Louisiana), Pensacola Power (Florida), and Shoals SmasHers (Alabama).
