Alabama Renegades Blank Herricanes

Alabama Renegades News Release


The Alabama Renegades (2-2) won their second game of the season, blanking the Gulf Coast Herricanes 46-0. Running back Nicole Nall ran for 94 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Katy Buckley showed her rushing skills racking up 108 yards and two touchdowns, one of which came on a 71 yard run. Fullback Teresa Finley added six points to the board, scoring one touchdown and rushing for 97 yards.

The Renegade defense also got into the scoring action when cornerback Nikie Hunter returned an interception 83 yards for a touchdown. Strong safety Bird Gholston and linebacker Wendy Everett helped the defense keep the Herricanes out of the end zone. Gholston had seven tackles and five assists while Everett contributed seven tackles and three assists. Free safety Sonya Massey picked off two interceptions.

The Renegades will travel to Atlanta this weekend to take on the Atlanta Leopards. They will return to their home field May 22 where they will be facing the Pensacola Power.
