May 2, 2006 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) News Release
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The American Indoor Football League's Northern Conference week ten players of the week are as follows: OFFENSE: Adam Haught, Johnstown Riverhawks. Threw for 244 yards and five touchdowns as the Riverhawks downed first-place Erie 57-38.
DEFENSE: Jamus Martin, Huntington Heroes. Had seven sacks, five tackles, four qb pressures, a blocked field goal and a fumble recovery as the Heroes downed the Syracuse Soldiers 50-29.
LINEMAN: Brandon Price, Miami Valley Silverbacks. Continued a solid season on the offensive line, not giving up a sack as the Silverbacks downed Steubenville 73-28.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Jason Cherry, Johnstown Riverhawks. Tied the league record of three field goals and finished with 15 points for the Riverhawks as they downed the Freeze.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The American Indoor Football League's Southern Conference week ten players of the week are as follows:
OFFENSE: Calvin Thomas, Daytona Beach Thunder and Redd Thompson, Richmond Bandits. Thomas, making his first appearance of the season, rushed for 81 yards and four touchdowns as the Thunder downed the Augusta Spartans 49-44. Thompson caught seven passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter, as the Renegades pulled away to a key 49-40 victory at the Raleigh Rebels.
DEFENSE: Jermaine Collins, Rome Renegades. Had two interceptions and 4.5 tackles as the Rome Renegades defeated the Florence Phantoms 63-19.
LINEMEN: Rashaan Kearney, Daytona Beach Thunder and John Bowman, Rome Renegades. Kearney had two sacks as the Thunder defense held Augusta scoreless on eight consecutive possession to help Daytona Beach open a 49-32 lead in its 49-44 win. Bowman had sacks, a fumble recovery and got a chance to score on offense as Rome took over the league's best record at 8-1.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Chris Segaar, Richmond Bandits. Made all seven PAT attempts - a factor that came into play during the Bandits' victory over Raleigh.
