AIFA Concludes Successful Meetings
November 7, 2007 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) News Release
BALTIMORE, Maryland (November 7, 2007) - The American Indoor Football Association completed its November league meetings Saturday. The event took place at the Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel, located across the street from the 1st Mariner Arena (the home arena for the AIFA's Baltimore Mariners).
League owners heard presentations from representatives for a number of goods and services, ranging from uniforms and equipment to insurance. The league heard a special presentation from Simply Me TV, the AIFA's national television partner.
Also in the area of video, the AIFA announced an agreement for the exchange of game scouting video via the Internet. The league selected Video Swap to provide this service, with the AIFA picking up the tab for its member teams on the interfacing software.
The November Meetings were unique, in that AIFA fans were included in the process. Fans were given the opportunity to ask questions of league owners, as well as share their experiences and make suggestions.
"The fans had some interesting questions they wanted to ask the owners," said AIFA co-founder John Morris. "We're listening to our fans. They are very important to us, and we need to hear what they have to say."
League owners were updated regarding franchise news, including the AIFA's rapid growth. League officials also explained circumstances surrounding previous announcements that certain AIFA teams would not be returning for 2008.
"We just want to make sure that we put our league in a position to be successful," said Morris. "We want our teams to be strong and be there for each other. We all walked out of there on cloud nine, excited about playing football!"
