AIF Adds Newest Staff Member

In an effort to continue to provide the most competitive level of player talent in the industry the American Indoor Football is pleased to announce the addition of Charles Gunnings to their staff. Charles position will be Director of Scouting and Player Development, his responsibilities will include running league player tryouts and combines across the country and providing each AIF team statistical information on each player tested as well as corresponding with NFL, CFL and AFL scouts about AIF players that have the ability to play at the next level. With the AIF'S recent affiliation with the USA Football Bowl and the USA Football Network this position was much needed as it will allow the AIF access to some of the best college football players (graduating seniors) in Division 11 and 111. In addition he will work with the AIF 4 Kids Junior League Youth Football Program, a national AIF program for youth player's ages 8-15 that will be playing tackle football in each AIF city.

Other responsibilities will include special projects and events as well as branding of the AIF both in the US and abroad. The AIF is proud to have someone of Charles experience and has had a long relationship with Charles having watched his storied career as a coach in the AIF and other leagues for many years. He is clearly the best person for the job states John Morris CEO of American Indoor Football.

Charles Gunnings is viewed as one of best coaches in professional indoor football, the last two seasons he has taken the Cape Fear Heroes of AIF to the league championship game. In 2012 the Heroes went undefeated and won the American Indoor Football Championship and in 2013 he led the Heroes to the AIF Regular Season Championship before losing to the Harrisburg Stampede in the AIF Championship Game

Coach Gunnz as he is known to his players and peers has been a professional head coach with four different teams the Cape Fear Heroes (AIF), Fayetteville Guard (NIFL & AIFA), Richmond Raiders (AIFA) and the Fayetteville Force (SIFL) as well as a defensive coordinator with 4 different teams the Fayetteville Guard (NIFL), Huntington Heroes (AIFA), Richmond Raiders (AIFA) and the Fayetteville Force (SIFL). Charles is no stranger to national recognition having won two national championships (2007, 2013) and having two undefeated seasons in indoor football.

Charles is married to his high school sweetheart Shaunee, they have a twelve year old daughter Laila and a four year old son Charles Jr. ("CJ"), Charles is also a police officer with the Laurinburg Police Department in Laurinburg N.C.
