Milwaukee regained the upper hand in the 2006 Calder Cup Finals with a 2-0 road win over Hershey in Game 3 last night... The teams go right back at it this evening (6:00 ET), with the Admirals trying to extend their 2-1 series lead and the Bears hoping to pull even once more... Milwaukee has not trailed in a series yet this postseason... When playing on the second of back-to-back nights during the 2006 playoffs, the Admirals are 2-3, while the Bears are 5-1...
Milwaukee's dynamic duo of Darren Haydar and Simon Gamache recorded a goal and an assist each in last night's win... Haydar set an AHL record with his sixth game-winning goal of the postseason, and ran his scoring streak to 13 games, with 14 goals and 11 assists in that span... Gamache's 12 playoff goals are second only to Haydar's 16 on the AHL leaderboard... In his first appearance after allowing six goals in a Game 2 loss, Pekka Rinne (10-1, 2.18, .929) stopped 21 shots for his third shutout of the postseason... Scottie Upshall was credited with eight shots on goal in Game 3, a team high for these playoffs... With their win last night, the Admirals improved to 7-1 on the road this postseason...
Attendance for Game 3 at the Giant Center was 10,840, the largest for a Hershey Bears home game in the club's 68-year history... This evening's contest is sold out as well... Tomas Fleischmann and Kris Beech saw their scoring streaks end at nine games in the shutout loss... Thirteen of Hershey's 21 shots in Game 3 came from defensemen, led by Lawrence Nycholat (four) and Mike Green (three)... The Bears are averaging a league-best 3.88 goals per game in the playoffs, but have been held to a total of one goal in two losses to Milwaukee... Hershey had won six straight home Finals games since its previous loss, a 6-3 defeat to New Brunswick in Game 3 in 1980... Last night marked the Bears' first shutout loss in a home playoff game since a 6-0 setback to Chicago in Game 4 of their 2003 conference quarterfinal; Simon Gamache had a hat trick for the Wolves that night.
