Veteran Arizona Rattlers quarterback Sherdrick Bonner's sensational play against the Dallas Desperados earned him the Player of the Week, as selected by the board of the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA). Bonner completed 20 of 34 passes for 272 yards with eight touchdowns and no interceptions to help Arizona beat the Desperados 71-48.
The performance continued a hot streak for Bonner, who in his 11th season, all with the Rattlers. He has thrown 20 touchdown passes and just one interception to lead Arizona on a three-game winning streak and into contention for a playoff spot.
The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director.
