AFL week 13 quick hitters
April 21, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release
MAJOR MILESTONE: Grand Rapids QB MICHAEL BISHOP (6-2, 215, Kansas State) is on the verge of breaking a record that has stood for over a decade. With 53 rushing yards Bishop can break the single-season rushing record set by MAJOR HARRIS in 1991 with the Columbus Thunderbolts (429). Through 11 games, Bishop has 61 carries for 377 yards which already ranks as the third-highest single-season rushing total with five games remaining. Bishop has had three games this season with 50-or-more rushing yards, including a single-game AFL record 100-yard rushing performance in his first game this season. Bishop hopes to make the record books again when the Rampage (1-10) host the New Orleans VooDoo (7-4) this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on Cox Sports and AFL Net (www.arenafootball.com).

The Storm have a winning percentage of .786 (55-15) in their final five games of the season. In all 18 seasons, the Storm have never lost more than two of their final five games. Last season the Storm went 5-0 at the end of the season en route to their 18th consecutive playoff appearance. With five games remaining, the Storm (7-4) travel to the Gaylord Entertainment Center to take on the Nashville Kats (3-7-1) this Sunday at 1 p.m ET on NBC.
IN A RUSH FOR THE RECORD: After becoming the fifth player in AFL history to rush for 70 touchdowns two weeks ago, Chicago FB/LB BOB MCMILLEN (6-2, 255, Illinois Benedictine) now has his sights set on taking sole possession of the No. 3 spot on the all-time touchdown list. McMillen is currently in a three-way tie for third with LES BARLEY and Arizona FB/LB BO KELLY (71). McMillen has a rushing touchdown in four of his last five games and looks to add to his numbers when the Rush (7-4) travel to the Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Avengers (5-6) this Saturday at 10:30 p.m ET on FSN Chicago, FSN West2 and The Score (Canada).
