
AFL Calls up Stampede Receiver Brown

HARRISBURG, PA (Jun 13, 2014) - The Harrisburg Stampede will be without the services of WR Scorpio Brown this weekend versus the Richmond Raiders. He has accepted an invitation to try out with the San Jose Sabercats of the AFL.
Brown currently leads the Stampede in receptions (49 receptions) and receiving yards (469 yards), and ranks in the top 10 of the PIFL in both categories, 7th and 10th respectively.
"Scorpio is the consummate professional and has represented this team well both on the field and in the community," said Stampede President/General Manager Marques Colston. "As an organization we are excited about this opportunity for him to advance his career, and fully support him."
The Stampede prepare to take on the Richmond Raiders this Saturday with an opportunity to keep their playoff hopes alive. The teams are playing for a share of 2nd place in the National Conference, and the final playoff spot. The winner will hold the head-to-head tie breaker.
Kickoff is set for 4:00pm EST from PinnacleHealth Field at Giant Center.
