FRIDAY'S GAMES

Mohegan 41, WILKES-BARRE SCRANTON 38 (Attendance: 5,135): MEL LONG hauled in a 30-yard bomb as time expired to carry the Wolves (2-0) past the Pioneers (0-2). COSMO DEMATTEO, game MVP, caught nine passes for 137 yards and five touchdowns for the Pioneers.

ALBANY 45, Richmond 13 (Attendance: 6,576): Game MVP RYAN VENA completed 13-of-18 passes for 163 yards and four touchdowns in Albany's (2-0) win over Richmond (0-2). The Conquest defense forced three fumbles and recorded four sacks, holding Richmond to an all-time low 13 points.

MACON 36, Greensboro 13 (Attendance: 3,217): JACQUES RUMPH, game MVP, led all receivers with 10 catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for two additional scores in the Knights' (2-0) win over the Prowlers (1-1). Ironman of the Game BYRON DOUZART recorded two sacks for the Knights, bringing his two-game total to 3.5.

TENNESSEE 62, Quad City 59 (Attendance: 5,354): QB MATT SAUK hit JARRIAN JAMES for a seven-yard touchdown with 16 seconds remaining to lift the Vipers (2-0) over the Steamwheelers, who are 0-2 for the first time in team history. Game MVP JEFF HEWITT caught 10 balls for 209 yards and six of QB TONY ZIMMERMAN'S eight passing touchdown.

BIRMINGHAM 57, Bossier City 43 (Attendance: 5,708): Steeldogs' (2-0) QB JEFF HOLMES completed 19-of-26 for 230 yards and seven touchdowns, including eight passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns to game MVP ARYVIA HOLMES in the win over the Battle Wings (1-1). LEAFORD HACKITT caught seven passes for 116 yards and three touchdowns for the Battle Wings.

SATURDAY'S GAMES

COLUMBUS 47, Rochester 32 (Attendance: 2,702): The Wardogs improved to 2-0 for the first time in team history, paced by game MVP JAMES DICKERSON, who had four receptions for 72 yards with two scores and one 45-yard interception return for a touchdown in the win over the Brigade (0-2). DEREK BAKER grabbed nine passes for 139 yards and two scores for Rochester.

FLORIDA 33, Charleston 27 (Attendance: 4,833): The Firecats' (1-1) defense held the Swamp Foxes (0-2) scoreless through the first two quarters, earning their first win of the season. QB BRYAN SPARACINO completed 17-of-30 passes for 189 yards and four touchdowns for the Firecats. Charleston's TERRANCE QUATTLEBAUM led all receivers with nine receptions for 161 yards and two scores.

San Diego 40, ARKANSAS 34 (Attendance: 7,854): San Diego (2-0) QB KANE CLAUNCH connected with JERRY GARRETT for a 40-yard scores late the fourth to put the Riptide ahead of the Twisters (0-2). Kicker RYAN GEISLER nailed field goals from 43-yards and 31-yards for the Riptide.

MEMPHIS 51, Bakersfield 35 (Attendance: 3,159): After trailing 9-0 early, the Xplorers (1-1) went on a 31-0 scoring run during the first through second quarters to run away from the Blitz (0-2). Game MVP KEVIN PRENTISS caught six passes for 93 yards and three touchdowns for the Xplorers.

TULSA 43, Wichita 25 (Attendance: 5,292): Game MVP TACOMA FONTAINE scored five first-half touchdowns, helping the Talons (2-0) cruise past the Stealth (1-1). Tulsa QB CRAIG STRICKLAND completed 19-of-33 for 216 yards and four touchdowns, while his counterpart ANTHONY BUCIH went 14-of-31 for 220 yards and four touchdowns for the Stealth.
