This marks the final column of af2 Nation for the 2005 arenafootball2 season. But, before we say goodbye, let's get a few things out of the way, and recap the conference semifinals, as well as reveal the final tally for the "Quick Picks" segment. So, what are waiting for? Let's go!

AMERICAN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS: The Louisville Fire continued its amazing run through the af2 playoffs last week, as the squad blazed its way into New Hampshire, and upset the East Division champion Manchester Wolves 69-56 last Friday. Matt Sauk passed for 288 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions in leading Louisville to victory. The Fire will make one more road trip Saturday night, this time to Estero, Fla. to face the defending Arena Cup Florida Firecats. The Firecats advanced to this weekend's American Conference title game by defeating the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers 59-45 last weekend. Chris Wallace made 18-of-28 completions for 317 yards in the win. Additionally, Cainon Lamb and Magic Benton combined for seven touchdowns to help lead the Firecat effort.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS: The Memphis Xplorers advanced to the National Conference championship game by stomping the Amarillo Dusters 71-30. It was the third win over Amarillo for the Xplorers, who scored 37 unanswered points in the final period.

In the other National Conference semifinal game, the Rio Grande Valley Dorados sent the other #2 seed in the af2 playoffs, as they routed the Tulsa Talons on the road, 65-42 last Saturday. The Dorados jumped out to a 14-0 lead, and never looked back, as they cruised to victory from there. Josh Kellett threw for 233 yards and five touchdowns in leading RGV to its first-ever road postseason win. Now the Dorados must travel to Southhaven, Miss., where the Xplorers are the only team standing between them and a trip to Bossier City, La. for Arena Cup VI. QUICK PICKS

THE FINAL TALLY FOR 2005:

Last week: 2-2

Final record: 104-62 (.627)
