FRIDAY'S GAMES

HAWAII 57, Wichita 30 (Attendance: 3,744): Game MVP DARNELL ARCENEAUX competed 16-of-25 passes for 229 yards with six touchdowns and rushed for two more scores as the Islanders won its first ever playoff game. OS NIAN TAYLOR led the way for Hawaii with seven catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns. The Islanders' defense held Wichita QB CRAIG STRICKLAND to 223 yards with only two touchdowns.

SATURDAY'S GAMES

Mohegan 50, CAPE FEAR 47 (Attendance: 2,291): MEL LONG hauled in 10 passes for a game-high 148 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Wolves past the Wildcats. Lineman CHARLIE COOK registered two sacks of QB BRYAN SNYDER, including one on the final play of the game as the Wildcats were driving to get into field goal range. FB/LB WILMONT PERRY rushed for 10 yards and three touchdowns for the Wildcats and ANTHONY HINES tallied eight receptions for 106 yards with one touchdown.

MACON 41, Florida 35 (Attendance: 3,512): JACQUES RUMPH earned game MVP honors by catching 10 passes for 121 yards and one touchdown as the Knights eliminated the defending American Conference Champion Firecats from the postseason. QB JERMAINE ALFRED completed 24-of-35 passes for 217 yards with two touchdowns and he rushed for three more scores. With 5.5 tackles, two pass break-ups and one interception returned for a touchdown, MICHAEL CARAWAY garnered ADT Defensive Player of the game for the Knights. MAGIC BENTON led all Florida receivers with five catches for 72 yards and two touchdowns.

ARKANSAS 36, Bakersfield 28 (Attendance: 6,012): RICKY HEBERT, Game MVP, tossed three touchdowns and ran for two more as the Twisters dropped the Blitz. KEVIN WILLIAMS, who caught two of Hebert's touchdown passes, totaled five receptions for 86 yards to lead the Twisters. Blitz OS ERIC MAHANKE, who caught seven touchdown passes one week ago, was held to seven catches for 67 yards with no touchdowns by the Twisters' defense. KAHLIL CARTER grabbed one interception and FREDERICK BURKS tallied two sacks to lead the Twisters solid defensive effort.
