GIVING BACK...Today, the Akron Aeros donated $5,760 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. That figure represents 50 percent of the total ticket sales revenue from the Eastern League Championship games played in Akron during September. In addition, on Friday, September 2, the American Red Cross raised $3,000 at Canal Park, including a $1,500 donation from the Aeros organization. The Akron Aeros players also got in the act, collecting $1,050. All tallied, nearly $10,000 was raised at Canal Park for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to support the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

GOOD LUCK TOREY...2005 Akron Aeros Manager Torey Lovullo is currently interviewing for the vacant Los Angeles Dodgers managerial position. Torey was named Eastern League Manager of the Year after leading Akron to their second E.L. title in three seasons.
AFL...Five players from the 2005 Eastern League Champion Akron Aeros squad are currently playing for the Mesa Solar Sox in the prestigious Arizona Fall League...Those players with their current stats are: OF BRAD SNYDER, .314 (11-35), 8 G, 7 R, 1 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR, 5 RBI; 3B PAT OSBORN, .385 (5-13), 4 G, 3 R, 2 2B, 1 RBI; C JAVIER HERRERA, .111 (1-9), 3 G, 2 R; RHP TRAVIS FOLEY, 0-0, 6.75 ERA, 4 G, 4.0 IP, 7 H, 3 R/ER, 5 BB, 1 SO; RHP BRIAN SLOCUM, 0-0, 4.76 ERA, 4 G, 5.2 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2 SO...The Indians have also sent the following two players to the AFL: 1B RYAN GARKO, .345 (10-29), 8 G, 5 R, 4 2B, 3 HR, 9 RBI; RHP ADAM MILLER, 0-0, 4.50 ERA, 2 G/GS, 6.0 IP, 8 H, 3 R/ER, 0 BB, 3 SO.
