
Admirals Recall Defenseman Nick Schaus

NORFOLK - The Norfolk Admirals have recalled defenseman Nick Schaus from the ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets, Admirals Assistant General Manager Bob Ferguson announced today.
Schaus, 5-foot-10, 200-pounds, has appeared in nine games with the Komets, posting four assists and four penalty minutes. He is tied for the team lead in assists by a defenseman and is tied for second in points by a defenseman.
A 26-year-old native of Orchard Park, New York, Schaus has appeared in 126 career American Hockey League games between the Worcester Sharks and Syracuse Crunch, netting eight goals and 30 points with 78 penalty minutes. In 19 career ECHL games between the Komets and Elmira Jackals, Schaus has recorded one goal and nine points.
Prior to turning professional, Schaus appeared in 148 games over four seasons at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He registered 29 goals and 83 points with 220 penalty minutes. An undrafted defenseman, Schaus signed as a free agent with the San Jose Sharks following the conclusion of his collegiate career.
Schaus signed an AHL Standard Player's Contract with the Admirals on September 21, 2012.
