Admirals Ink Whitney to AHL Deal

Milwaukee, WI - The Milwaukee Admirals announced today that the team has signed goalie Brandon Whitney to an AHL contract.

Whitney joins the Admirals after a successful junior career, spent primarily with the Victoriaville Tigres of the QMJHL. In parts of five seasons with the Tigres, Whitney compiled a 67-47-18 record with a 2.99 goals against average and a .903 save percentage, while posting a pair of 20-win seasons. He notched an impressive 22-4-4 record in 2011-12 and followed that up with a 27-20-6 mark in 2012-13, twice winning CHL Goaltender of the Week Honors.

The Kentville, NS native played one game with the Hamilton Bulldogs last season, allowing three goals on 33 shots and also saw action in five games with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.

Whiteny and current Admirals defenseman Jonathan Diaby played together with Victoriaville for three seasons.
