
Adams Plays All Nine For Toros

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Toros closed out the 2009 GBL regular season with an 8-5 loss to the St. George Roadrunners. The Toros complete their first season in the independent professional league with an over record of 38-35; 20-14 in the second half, and a playoff spot in the South Division championship.
Skip Adams was the player of the game for the Toros as he played all nine positions in the regular season finale. Adams' night started behind the dish then he moved on to third, shortstop, second, first, right field, center field, leftfield and finally, on the mound.
Adams also had a good day with the bat as he went 2-4, hit a triple, scored one run and drove in a pair of RBI.
Andre Marshall was the top performer at the plate for Tucson as he went 3-4, with three singles, a stolen base and a run scored.
Brian Daly got the start for the Toros, on the hill, where he went four innings deep. Daly gave up six runs, on nine hits, and picked up the loss, (1-3).
Jason Jacome, Toby Nordman, Adams and Ryan Priddy also made appearances on the mound. Jacome and Nordman combined for four innings of work while Adams and Priddy split the ninth.
The Toros will hit the road Tuesday, and travel to St. George where they will open up the 2009 GBL playoffs against the Roadrunners, on Wednesday. Game two will also be in St. George, on Thursday; then the two teams return to Tucson for game three, of the best of five series, on Friday. The two games in St. George start at 6:05 pm Tucson time with game-three starting at 7:00 pm, at Hi Corbett field.
