Adam Geaslen Named Head Coach of the Bellingham Bells
October 8, 2019 - West Coast League (WCL)
Bellingham Bells News Release
Adam Geaslen has been named head coach of the Bellingham Bells, the team announced today. Geaslen served as an assistant on Coach Bob Miller's staff during the 2018 and 2019 Bells seasons and will assume the head coaching duties of the Bells effective immediately.
"Adam embodies everything we are looking for in a head coach," Bells general manager Stephanie Morrell said. "He is professional, knowledgeable and passionate. He is fully committed to development and to giving his full effort so that our student-athletes and the great fans in the Bellingham community can have the best possible experience possible during the summer season. The Bells are in great hands with Coach Geaslen at the helm!"
Geaslen is currently an assistant coach with the Edmonds College baseball program, where he has served since 2018. Prior to his time with the Tritons, he worked as an associate head coach for Clark College in Vancouver, Wash. Geaslen has also done work for ESPN as a video recruiting director.
"The Bells organization exemplifies class, professionalism, and integrity; it is an honor to be selected to serve as the head coach," Geaslen said. "Our coaching staff focuses on player development and we work with some of the top collegiate players and draft prospects in the nation, all while maintaining an organizational goal of a WCL title. I am extremely grateful to Glenn and Stephanie for this incredible opportunity and looking forward to our 2020 season. Go Bells!"
Geaslen replaces Bob Miller, who lead the Bells during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Miller stepped down to focus more time and energy on family and his position as the head coach at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
"Bob did an amazing job in his time with the Bells," Morrell said. "He added a lot to our program, and lead with integrity, energy and passion. Bob will forever be part of our Bells family, and we are very grateful to him for the contributions he made during his time in Bellingham."
Geaslen will assume the head coaching duties effective immediately. In addition to working with Pitching Coach & Recruiting Coordinator Jim Clem to complete the 2020 roster, he will also work closely with the front office on community relations, baseball operations and general preparations for the 2020 season.
"I couldn't be happier that our head coaching search, which was extensive, lead us to Adam," Morrell said. "We are thrilled to have someone who is familiar with, and passionate about, our organization at the helm for the 2020 season."
