ROSEMONT, ILL. - Coming off a 9-5 loss to the Diamonds last night, the Bandits headed to the field looking to turn things around tonight.

Monica Abbott (14-3) started in the circle for the Bandits going up against the Diamonds Katie Burkhart (8-10).

The Diamonds struck first for the second night in a row as Jami Lobpries scored from third following a passed ball to take a 1-0 lead in the third inning.

In the bottom of the third the Bandits stole the lead from the Diamonds as a fielding error on Alisa Goler's at bat allowed both Danielle Zymkowitz and Megan Wiggins to score and give the Bandits a 2-1 lead.

With the Bandits holding onto a one-run lead in the top of the sixth inning, the Diamonds put runners in the corners with no outs, but Abbott came up big for the Bandits, striking out three consecutive batters to preserve the lead.

Abbott pitched a strong game for the Bandits, fanning 14 batters while giving up six hits. The solid defense meant that the two runs in the third inning were enough for the Bandits to win game two of the series by a score of 2-1, evening the series at one game apiece.

The Bandits will take on the Diamonds in game three tomorrow at 7:35 p.m. CDT.

Tickets to the final two home games of the season are on sale now. To purchase tickets, contact the box office at 877-722-6348.
