ABA to return to Orange County in 2007

October 12, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it would return to Orange County, California next season. According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "With the Buzz moving to Carson, this left an opening in a great area and it was filled quickly by David Robert Clarke, Founder/President/CFO of Worldlink Integration Group, Inc., a pool of diversified investment companies that operates and manages a portfolio of small businesses in the IT Services and Real Estate Investment and Development Industries."

"David has tremendous experience in personnel management and motivation, excellent leadership skills, is a very effective communicator and exhibits a very competitive personality. With his high level of organizational, analytical and creative skills, his background in financial management and his love of basketball, we have no doubt that he will be a great ABA team owner. We are thrilled to have him as part of the ABA."

Clarke added, "I've had a chance to watch the ABA and its remarkable growth very closely. While there have been some problems with some teams, I am convinced the product - exciting professional basketball and entertainment at affordable prices - is tremendous and can be very successful in SoCal if managed properly. We have no doubt that we can do the things necessary to have a very successful operation in Orange County and we are ready to begin right now to make our organization one of the best in this great league. We'll be making many announcements very shortly including our web site, team name, venue, coaches, etc." For more information, email dclarke@ocgladiators.com or call 949 212 5322 or visit www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
