January 4, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. Joe Newman, ABA CEO, today announced that the owners of the 2005 expansion teams for the professional basketball league would be meeting in Indianapolis on Saturday, January 22nd at the Airport Radisson Hotel. According to Newman, "The teams want to get a jump start on next season and begin doing the things necessary to maximize the potential for success. Many already have their operations underway. We expect representatives as many as 40 teams to participate in the meeting and have invited several guests, including 2004 team owners, who will share their experiences from the record-setting 2004 expansion season and who will discuss key elements in running a successful operation."

Newman continued, "One of the keys to success is personnel. Teams are looking for General Managers, Asst General Managers, Marketing and Operations people, interns, coaches, asst coaches and others interested in working in a professional sports environment. Resumes can be emailed directly to me at conniejoenewman@aol.com or faxed to 317 844 7502. I'll make sure they get into the hands of the team owners."
