ABA Salutes service members and families
June 30, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
The ABA and ABA Salute want to recognize our service members, their families and our fans during this 4th of July weekend as we celebrate our nation's independence. In particular, we want to thank our service members who sacrifice greatly for all Americans. Let us also reflect and remember all those who have given their lives and paid the ultimate price for freedom and the families who now grieve their loved ones. July 4th is our nation's day of Independence. Not only is it a day for BBQ's and fireworks, but also a day to reflect on what we have as Americans, how it was given and those who provided this day for us. Our founding fathers had a dream and out of this dream grew a beautiful nation, one that is unmatched. We have much to be grateful for and many to show our gratitude to. On our nation's birthday, fly your flag high, teach your children about our nation's history, educate them on what the colors of the flag represent, thank a veteran, or lay flowers at the grave of a fallen hero. While you enjoy your holiday, please say a prayer for those who are fighting for all of us and cannot be here and the loved ones left to celebrate alone. Our service members and their families are true patriots and exhibit their character our founding fathers felt and wanted for our country. We have the ability to pledge allegiance to the flag of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, through the sacrifice, courage, bravery and dedication of many proud heroic patriots.
The ABA and ABA Salute extend our deepest appreciation and thanks to all of our troops - past and present - for the liberties you provide. To those deployed and away from home, keep up the good work, God speed, and stay safe. To their families, we say thank you for all the sacrifices and hardships you have to endure and for giving to your country as well. Happy 4th of July and God Bless the United States of America.
