Indianapolis, IN/Manila, Philippines. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com, the US largest professional basketball league has announced a major revamp of strategy as part of its initiative to go global with the recently announced ABA Global operation.

All aspects encompassing branding, marketing, infrastructure, media and operations will be reviewed by Joe Newman, ABA CEO, Dick Packer, President/COO of the ABA, Dick Tinkham, co-founder of the ABA and Paul Monozca, Vice-Chairman of ABA Global. A 6-month long process of creating a new blueprint for the ABA and ABA Global is in process after the recent entry of Chinese and Philippine national teams in the ABA.

"There is definitely a revamp going on and it will be good for everyone as we have international partners now,"stated Joe Newman. "The result of the revamp will be a stronger ABA in the US and ABA Global will make a worldwide impact also."

"We are very pleased to be working with the ABA on this new world view of professional basketball," stated Paul Monozca. "We believe the ABA/ABA Global will be the most sought after league globally. The ABA brand will be given a new meaning moving forward."

A total of eight countries are expected to join the ABA in the next three years with a team of sports marketing professionals on the ground to ensure the quality of the ABA is brought to a whole new level. This includes a player exchange program dubbed "ABA Clearing House" which will see up to 200 players exchange playing slots from the USA, Europe, Russia and Asia.

Selected US ABA teams that have performed well will be opened to foreign investment to beef up their

financial capabilities," added Monozca. "Los Angeles, based on the excellent handling of the recent Friendship Games with the Philippine National team, has been chosen as the first key city to host more international games."

"The ABA has over 50 teams and is expanding rapidly," stated Packer. Our global initiative is timely due to numerous countries seeking a strong professional platform in the United States. It is about time that we do some revamping to take advantage of these extraordinary opportunities."

The ABA Global funding is a $200 million dollar drive to improve all key operational aspects which will help bring ABA/ABA Global to the next level. It is jointly funded by the Monoco-based SPIRIT fund led by Paul Monozca and a group of international investors. Plans will be presented at the ABA League Meeting and Global Summit to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday, June 11th. For more information, visit www.abaglobal.com or www.abalive.com.
