ABA returns to Phoenix in 2005
Published on September 27, 2004 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. Joe Newman, ABA Co-Founder, today announced that exciting, high scoring and affordable ABA professional basketball will return to Phoenix in 2005 as part of the league's expansion program. According to Newman, "We're very enthusiastic about the Phoenix market and even more enthusiastic about the ownership group putting the team together. They're very bright, very energetic and very knowledgable about sports and business. It's the perfect combination."
The team will be owned and operated by AMS Distributing, LLC., a Scottsdale, AZ-based company headed by Aaron Scofield, VP of Phoenix Digital Solutions, a media company. Scofield added, "I have been a basketball fan and player since I was a little boy. I have a lot of experience with basketball having played in high school and college - and have a successful background in business marketing. We are very excited at the possibilities of this venture and will work hard to make the Phoenix area team one of the best in the ABA."
