ABA Introduces New Web Site
March 9, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today introduced a second web site for the professional basketball league to complement its popular www.abalive.com web site. The new web site, www.abamagazine.com will include features like:
*Contests
*Interviews
*Polls
*Fan emails and comments
*Letters to the Editor
*Ask the CEO
*More photos
*Player stories
*Referee information
*Feature articles
According to Chuck Rowe, the editor of the new www.abamagazine.com, "While the regular ABA Live web site focuses more on the business/headline/news, this new web site will be designed as more of a fan online magazine type of site with more interaction. We've just started it and I'm sure there will be refinements as we move forward. But, we are thrilled to have this wonderful opportunity to showcase the ABA and its teams."
"I think www.abamagazine.com is long overdue," stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO. With so many teams and so many things happening in the ABA, it has been difficult to include everything on the ABA web site. We receive tons of photos and fan input - and there was no place to put it. Chuck came up with the idea of a magazine format and off we went. It should be fun and I am sure it will develop quickly in popularity. I hope so." For more information, visit www.abalive.com or www.abamagazine.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
