ABA Intern Program off to flying start
April 18, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) announced today that the ABA Intern Program "got off to a flying start" following the announcement last week. According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "We are very pleased with the response we've received from graduate students throughout the United States. There are so many different facets to operating a professional sports team and we are getting young men and women with a large variety of skill sets. Each of our teams will have at least ten interns working in the areas of marketing, public relations, radio/TV, community relations, entertainment, game day operations, website management, tryout camps and other things. That's over 600 openings this spring, summer and fall - and many of the teams are also looking to fill permanent position in these areas. Anyone interested in getting into sports management and operations on the ground floor should respond."
Please send your resume to joenewman@abalive.com. If you have a preference for a team or specific area, please indicate. Your resume will be forwarded onto the team. Or you can contact teams directly. For more information, visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
