Published on October 28, 2007 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has entered into an agreement with CoLours TV (www.colourstv.org) to televise ABA games this season. According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "We are very pleased and excited to be associated with this remarkable company. If there was ever a network that was designed for the ABA, because of its cultural and ethnic diversity, it is CoLours TV. This is truly a match made in heaven."
"We have been interested in the ABA for quite sometime," stated CoLours TV President/CEO Tracy Jenkins Winchester. "We have watched the ABA's growth in the US, Canada and Mexico as well as their initiatives in China. It is a league that has made a commitment to cultural and ethnic diversity of ownership and management. We are very excited to be able to bring ABA games to our growing worldwide audience on both television and broadband."
"We are now approaching 40,000,000 viewers and are growing rapidly," added Arthur O. Thomas, Vice President of Program Development and Acquisitions for the Denver-based company. "We hope to be able to release the exact schedule of games in the next week to ten days. We do know we will be carrying games from New York, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas. This will complement such programs as Pacific Fusion, Latin Eyes, NEO Soul Cafe, Black Life in Japan, Asian Variety Show and CoLours Cinema."
Fans can see CoLours TV nationwide by going to Dish Network's channel 9407 and 9396 as well as on select cable and broadcast channels. The games and schedules will be promoted on both company's websites starting in November.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
