Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced that it has added a team to its new Mid-Atlantic Division to be located in Williamsburg, Virginia. According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "This is truly a "feel good" story. What a wonderful owner we have in Lawrence Taylor, a career US Army soldier. Born in Washington, DC, Lawrence stated playing basketball at the age of four for the local Allentown Boys & Girls Club and played through high school and college until he was injured.

He joined the army in 1994, tried out and made the All-Army team while in Korea. Since then, he has deployed to places like Korea, Guam, Italy, Spain and Egypt and continued to play basketball in all of these countries. His passion for basketball grew. While on active duty he tried out and played professionally until injured - and then, deployed several more times and was injured in Iraq while serving in the Army in 2006."

"Owning a professional basketball team has always been something I've dreamed about," stated Taylor. "And I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the ABA. I've played basketball worldwide and have played with several different cultures and several different styles of play. I believe I know what it will take to have a winning team in the ABA as well as a winning organization. My passion in life is the game of basketball."

"I am also very pleased that Cherie L. Taylor is co-owner of the team and that Aaron Glenn has joined us as General Manager," added Lawrence. "They are doing some great things already and the ABA is providing us with a lot of guidance and leadership. This will be fun and we will be ready."

The team's name will be announced shortly, the website is under construction. You can reach Lawrence at Lawrence.Taylor2@us.army.mil or reeyaku@cox.net or call 757 236 5218 or 757 369 8792 or visit www.abalive.com.
