ABA Entertainment joins forces with the Urban Network
May 30, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. David Rose, ABA VP of Entertainment, today announced that the professional basketball league has joined forces with The Urban Network as part of its entertainment plans for the upcoming season. The Los Angeles-based Urban Network, in existance since 1988, is the premier entertainment industry publication, online portal and multi-media company bridging the urban entertainment community - its lifestyle, the consumer, the film, radio, retail and record industries.
According to Rose, "Not only will fans have exciting, explosive and dynamic basketball, but our entertainment division will keep fans on their feet and jumping out of their seats. I was fortunate to attend the Urban Network Music Conference in Palm Springs recently and felt that a relationship with UN would be a natural for them and us."
The Urban Network keeps its readers informed on other important topics such as fashion, health, wealth and liesure, expanding its presence across all segments of entertainment, including home video, theatrical releases, TV, gaming and lifestyle. It includes print media, a high-traffic website (www.urbannetwork.com), an annual industry conference, regional 1-2 day music seminars, an industry music guide, and an email newsletter.
Urban Network.com now features 2 online radio stations, the first being The Mix (which consists of several urban formats such as adult contemporary, old school R & B, jazz and gospel), and the second called Today's Hip-Hop and R & B.
Miller London, Urban Network's Publisher and CEO added, "I am so excited about our alliance with the ABA. It opens a whole new world of entertainment. Basketball is one of America's favorite pasttimes. The ABA gives young talent another option to further their athletic careers. With African Americans becoming more involved in ownership of this sport, it becomes even more important for the media to get involved. Working with the ABA and being selected the magazine of choice by them is a great honor. We at the Urban Network will use all of our resources to help market and promote the ABA to the masses."
ABA Entertainment will announced additional collaborations and a series of concerts and events that will make the 2005-2006 season a season full of entertainment and surprises.
