ABA auction off to flying start
February 10, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. Scott Templin, Director of the ABA Auction, announced that the ABA Auction is off to a flying start. "We opened the internet site on February 1st and the reponse has been greater than anticipated. We are ready to close our first auctions. However, we have received many requests from visitors to the website asking to provide more sports and entertainment items to bid on. If you are a collector and have some interesting items, please contact me - and we'll see what we can do about getting them on the ABA Auction."
David Rose, ABA VP Entertainment, added, "Proceeds from the auction go directly into the ABA Foundation and help fund the ABA basketballs that are going to youth basketball leagues around the country. We have had many many requests and are filling them. As we generate more income, we'll ship more balls. We hope to have every youth league playing with the ABA signature red, white and blue balls. For more information about how your youth league can participate, email Joe Newman at conniejoenewman@aol.com or me at dvdarose@aol.com or visit www.abalive.com."
For more information about memorabilia, contact Scott Templin at 317 696 2643 or email scott@auctioncorp.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
