
ABA announces live weekly webcast talk show

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the league will sponsor an hour long weekly talk show, "ABA Live Talk," beginning on July 1st. The show will be available at www.abalive.com and is another chapter in the unique professional basketball league's growth. The program will be hosted by Derrick Pearson and will be aired Fridays at 3pm EST throughout the summer and into the 2005-2006 season.
The program will have interviews with coaches, players, owners, league officials and sponsors and will feature weekly league awards for Fan email Questions of the Week. When the season begins, there will be game re-caps and player stats from around the league, plus awards for Players of the Week and Game of the Week. Pearson will report on league events and upcoming promotions.
Derrick has been involved in sports reporting for 13 years in television, radio and print media. He has covered the NFL, NBA, NHL, ABA and NCAA in Washington, D.C., Charlotte and Salt Lake City. He was host of the popular television show, "Carolina Blitz," a Carolina Panthers show in Charlotte, NC and was a regular panelist on the long running "Redskins Magazine" television show in Washington, D.C. Pearson was recently the host of "The Starting Line-Up, a radio sports talk show in Salt Lake City with former ABA All-Star Ron Boone, and was Media Director and Play by Play voice for the Utah Snowbears.
