ABA announces first first Prize Money Play game

December 30, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it's first Prize Money Play game will feature the Miami Tropics versus the Jacksonville Jam on Friday, January 5th. As previously announced, Prize Money Play games will award cash bonuses to the players on both the winning and losing teams - the first time ever in professional basketball that prize money is being awarded for regular season games. According to Brad Hester, ABA VP of Team Operations, "We've selected four games in January to test out Prize Money Play. The Miami vs. Jacksonville rivalry is already very intense - and this should give the players added incentive - as if they need it when these two teams meet. But it will be fun for the players, the coaches and the fans." The ABA, where innovation in sports has found a home. For more information, visit www.abalive.com.
