
AABPL names Billings General Manager,unveils Billings logo

(Billings, MT) - Worth Christie, President of the All American Professional Basketball League announced the hiring of Mike Marcum as the General Manager of the Billings Rims. The announcement of Marcum as General Manager of the Rims is the first General Manager announcement in the league. In addition the league unveiled the Billings Rims Logo.
"We're pleased to add Mike to the AAPBL. It's important to the AAPBL to have General Managers with strong business backgrounds like Mike." said Christie.
Marcum joins the Rims after serving as Sales Manager for the Holiday Inn in Billings. His background includes over 20 years of sales, marketing and promotion, advertising and sales management. "I'm really excited about the opportunity to be a part of something as new and innovative as the AAPBL. The challenge of this is going to be the fun part of this experience." "I'm going to enjoy the challenge of proving that Billings can and will support a professional basketball organization."
No stranger to Billings, Marcum has been a resident of the city since 1968. He is a graduate of Billings Senior High School. He and his wife Karen are parents of four children and three grandchildren.
In addition to the announcement of Marcum as General Manager of the Rims, the Rims logo was displayed publicly for the first time. According to AAPBL Director of Operations, Brad Pick, "The AAPBL wants all of the team names and logos to depict the nature or a historical reference to each of the league's cities." "The Billings logo depicts the topographical nature of the Billings area. The color scheme incorporates aspects of the topography and the arena as well; we believe the Billings logo is one that Rims fans will be attracted to."

Set to tip-off their inaugural season on November 11 at MetraPark Arena the Rims will be part of a 10 or 12 team league playing a regular season schedule that will conclude in March with playoffs to be concluded in early April, 2006.
