New York Lizards News Release
Dear Fans of NY,
In 2010 I entered the MLL Player Pool. The season before, a team held my rights then cut me leaving my career up in the air. Coaches Jim Mule, Joe Spallina and the Lizards Organization took a chance on me.
From the very first day that I put on a Lizards jersey I felt welcome. Â I felt like I belonged here thanks to my teammates, the staff and you, the fans. Since that day, I had endured four playoff heartbreaks and two serious surgeries.
Throughout it all, you never wavered and you never doubted us, you never doubted me. We have had coaching turnovers, player trades and drafts and it never mattered to you. You still watched, you still cheered and you still believed.
This season was more than just about our team's quest for a championship, it was about giving our fans the championship you rightfully deserved. Last Saturday when we finally hoisted the Steinfeld Trophy it was for you. The fans that stood and wished me luck when I crutched off the field with a blown knee in 2011. The fans that chanted "Beast!" when I was locked up in a tough fourth quarter faceoff. The fans that said thank you even after harsh losses, because you've always known that when I put on my jersey I give you absolutely everything I have.
You've waited for this championship and now after all of the sacrifices and all of the hurdles this team has endured we can finally say that the Trophy has come home to New York where it belongs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for always believing. This one is for YOU.
