Brevard Blue Ducks News Release

Allentown, PA – Another miserable third quarter equaled another gloomy loss for the Brevard Blue Ducks, this time to the Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs at Stabler Arena, 122-103.

Once again, Brevard played its opponent fairly even through the second quarter, ending the half down by only four, 51-47. But a 43-24 third quarter vaulted Pennsylvania ahead for good.

"I don't know what it is about the third quarter this year," commented team President, Mike Richman. "It doesn't matter where we are or who we play against, we come out flat after half-time and get blown away in the third."

The point guards for both teams shined in the contest. Pennsylvania's Kareem Reid, always a handful for the Ducks, scored 30 points to go along with 8 assists and no turnovers. Recently re-acquired Brian Taylor led the Blue Ducks with 25 points and 5 assists, but had 8 turnovers.

That is another continuing problem for Brevard as they coughed up the ball 23 times, compared to Pennsylvania's 13.

ValleyDawg's center, ex-NBA center Olden Polynice, was a major factor in the game, manhandling Brevard for 15 points and 16 rebounds, including eight offensive boards. Pennsylvania outrebounded Brevard 61-45.

Blue Ducks rookie Adam Hall had another good game, netting 20.

Brevard returns home to begin a new homestand starting June 6th, when they take on the defending USBL champion, Oklahoma Storm at the Clemente Center at Florida Tech. Game time is 7:00 PM. Tickets are available by calling (321) 751-BLUE, by visiting the Blue Ducks website at www.BrevardBlueDucks.com or at any Space Coast Credit Union location in Brevard. Tickets are also available at the Clemente Center box office an hour before game time.
