HAMILTON - Tiger-Cats offensive lineman Marwan Hage and his Hage's Heroes community initiative will host its sixth annual Thanksgiving food share for local families in need on Wednesday, October 9. This year will mark an important milestone as Hage's Heroes has now assisted over 10,000 families through food shares in Hamilton, Guelph, Moncton and Montreal.

Hage's Heroes will once again combine efforts with Speroway, a Guelph-based international relief organization, to provide food and hygiene boxes for 1,000 Hamilton families. Earlier this year, Hage joined Speroway on a three-day goodwill mission to El Salvador.

Hage's Heroes has been helping the Hamilton community since the program was created in 2007. Over the last six years, Hage's Heroes has welcomed over 5,000 underprivileged youth to Tiger-Cats home games, fed over 10,000 families through food drives and made numerous donations to local charities. In 2009, Hage was honoured with the CFL's Tom Pate Memorial Award in recognition of his efforts in the community.
