Hammerheads Sign Two Former Players

Wilmington, NC - The Wilmington Hammerheads have signed two former players to re-join the 2011 squad. Jyler Noviello and Chris Murray are the newest additions to the USLPRO team, pending USL and USSF approval.

Forward Tyler Noviello played for Head Coach David Irving and the Hammerheads in 2008 and 2009. While he was with the Hammerheads, he had 33 appearances and posted eight goals and five assists. In 2009 he was named a USL Player of the Week and also scored the deciding goal to name the Hammerheads as the 2009 regular season champions.

A graduate of West Virginia University, Jyler helped the 2006 Mountaineer squad to a conference record of 9-0-1 and scored the game winning goal to clinch the Big East Championship. Following his collegiate career, Noviello played for the PDL's Atlanta Silverbacks, leading the team in goals and total points.

A native of Roslyn, New York, midfielder Chris Murray spent his collegiate career with the UNCW Seahawks. Murray was an All Colonial Athletic Association Selection both his Junior and Senior years at UNCW.

Murray joined the Hammerheads for their 2008 and 2009 seasons and at the end of the 2008 season, he was named the Hammerhead's Rookie of the Year.

The Hammerheads begin their season at home on April 16, 2011 against the Rochester Rhinos. Ticket prices for games are $10 of adults, $8 for seniors (65+), and $6 for children 12 & under. Special group ticket rates are available. Contact the Hammerhead office for more information.
