Amarillo Venom News Release
Amarillo, TX 3/13/09 - In front of fans and media members at The Big Texan (7701 E. I-40 in Amarillo) Friday afternoon, the Amarillo Dusters revealed their new uniforrns to be worn during the 2009 season.
The Dusters have switched to a crimson and black scheme for 2009, departing from the traditional orange-and-black scheme the team has worn from its inception. In their endeavor to align with their sister hockey team (the CHL's Amarillo Gorillas), the Dusters' new uniform combination will reflect this change-the jerseys are primarily black with crimson trim and white numberals, while the pants are black with crimson trim.
"We are happy with the new uniforms," said Dusters General Manager Joe Morgado. "The streamlined look and new team colors are both improvements over years past."
Dusters players, including first-year Duster Rannoris Ray and veteran wide receiver Craig Fulton, Jr., modeled the jerseys for those in attendance.
"If you look good and feel good, then you'll play good," said Fulton, Jr. "It's that simple."
The Dusters will make replica jerseys available for sale in the approaching weeks. For more information about the new uniforms, or to purchase tickets for the Dusters' preseason game March 16th against the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz, please call the Amarillo Sports Central office (806) 350-7277.
