QMJHL announces recipients of RDS mid-season rookie excellence awards

BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, December 18, 2007 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today announced the names of the eighteen RDS mid-season rookie excellence award winners. Winners are selected by their team's head coach.
RDS and the QMJHL have been partners for several years. The partnership's goal is to recognize the talent and potential of young hockey players.
"Through the RDS mid-season rookie excellence awards program, RDS wishes to underline the efforts made by these young men in order to meet today's demanding challenges," commented Michel Gagnon, the Vice-President of Marketing and Sales at RDS. "We're extremely proud to play a part in their development and we salute their perseverance and talent."
Each rookie will be honoured during a pre-game ceremony and will receive an RDS sports bag worth approximately $125. Moreover, the mid-season rookies become eligible to win the RDS Trophy as the QMJHL's top rookie. The winner of this prestigious award will be announced at the Golden Puck Awards Gala on April 2nd and will receive bursary worth $1,000.
