Barrage Pick Up 12 In 2007 Supplemental Draft

Philadelphia, PA (December 7, 2006) - The 2007 Supplemental Draft took place Tuesday, December 5. The Philadelphia Barrage filled 12 out of their 15 open roster spots from players in the draft. Philadelphia will hold tryouts for the three remaining roster spots in April. Any player that was registered in the MLL Player Pool is eligible for the tryouts. More information regarding the tryouts will be announced in upcoming months.

In the first round with the 9th overall pick, the Barrage selected Brian Myers (M), followed by Nolan Godfrey (M) with their second (10th overall).

Myers, graduated from Towson University in 2004, recorded 39 goals and 10 assists for 49 points in 3 years for the Tigers. Myers played in one game for the Denver Outlaws in the 2006 season, recording no stats. Godfrey attended Merrimack College where he graduated in 2006. He played in 16 games for Merrimack, starting 12 of them. He recorded one assist for one point, in 2006. He collected

131 ground balls and won 211 face offs out of 345.

Midfielders Tom Melanson (20th overall), David Tamberinno (50th overall) and attackman Marc Morley (60th overall) were also new faces added to the Barrage roster.

Five players that were released in early October to keep the off-season roster at 20 players were re-selected by Philadelphia. Shaun Lyons, Jason Motta, Keevin Galbraith, Michael Holloway and Armando Polanco all played in at least one game for the Barrage during the 2006 season and now return for 2007.

With the twelfth and final pick, the Barrage selected midfielder Peter Cannon. Cannon, a Haverford, Pa. native, spent a short time on the Barrage roster in 2006 after being selected in the 4th Round (37th overall) in the 2006 Collegiate Draft.
