Fever sign NIFL veteran quarterback and defensive back

Kennewick, WA- The Tri-Cities Fever announce the signing of veteran quarterback Doug Coleman. The 6'2", 245 LB Coleman played for the Houma Bayou Bucks in 2004. Coleman had 2328 passing yards with 62 touchdowns and 47 rushing yards over a span of 12 games and 333 plays. He also led the Bayou Bucks to the playoffs. Coleman attended Eastern New Mexico University.
Coleman's signing with the Fever comes after Prosser native Tyler Thomas shattered his wrist during the Fever's first road game against the Wyoming Cavalry. Thomas will be undergoing major surgery on Thursday, April 14.
Also signing with the Fever is the 5'11", 172 LB Defensive Back Sullivan Beard. Beard also played for the Houma Bayou Bucks from 2002 - 2004. Beard led the Bayou Bucks in 2002 with 9 interceptions and 22 kick off returns for 445 yards. During the 2003 season Beard had 8 interceptions and 268 yards in kick off returns. The 2004 season proved to be Beard's best yet for kick off returns, with 779 yards in 42 returns. Beard attended Nichol State University in Lousiana.
Both Coleman and Beard arrived in the Tri-Cities on Tuesday, April 12 and attended their first practice as a members of the Fever that evening.
