
Steelheads stay alive with win over Idaho

GARY, Ind. (March 12, 2004) â David Graves made a pair of free throws with 13 seconds left to ice a 100-97 Steelheads win over the Idaho Stampede Friday night at the Genesis Convention Center.
The Stampede lead the best-of-5 series, 2 games to 1, with Game 4 set for Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at the Genesis Convention Center.
"Great win for us," Steelheads Head Coach Duane Ticknor said. "We knew what we had to do and our guys stepped up and came through when it counted.
Before 3,132 â the largest Continental Basketball Association Playoff crowd this season â the Steelheads (28-23) kept their chances alive.
Graves made 1 of 2 free throws with 19 seconds left to give Gary a 98-95 lead. He finished with 20 points and nine rebounds. Jemeil Rich led the way with a game-high 30 points and a game-high 13 assists. Shelly Clark also had a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Immanuel McElroy scored 18 points and Jarrod Gee added 13 for the Steelheads.
Idaho (36-15) had five players score in double figures. David Bailey led the Stampede in scoring with 22 points.
