Right-hander Fires Eight Frames

Moosic, Pa. - The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) lost a 2-0 final to the Toledo Mud Hens on Saturday night at PNC Field. The RailRiders (31-22) were shutout for a fifth time on the year and second time by the Mud Hens (24-30).

Luis Cessa (2-6) was left with a tough-luck loss after hurling eight innings. The right-hander allowed two runs, a solo shot to Steven Moya in the sixth and a two-out, RBI-double to Jason Krizan in the seventh. Cessa yielded five hits in all and struck out seven without a walk.

The RailRiders were held to a single hit over seven innings by Drew VerHagen (4-3). The right-hander worked around four walks and fanned eight. Edward Mujica allowed a single to Tyler Wade to being the ninth, but bounced back to strike out the side for his third save.

Wade reached three times, walking twice. He stole his 14th base of the season in the first.

The 2016 Gildan Triple-A National Champion RailRiders go for a series win against the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers) on Sunday at PNC Field. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. Right-hander Bryan Mitchell (0-1, 4.00) gets the starting nod against lefty Anthony Vasquez (1-2, 6.28).
