2023 QMJHL Entry Draft Lottery to be Held Tonight

Montreal, QC - The lottery for the 2023 QMJHL Entry Draft presented by Fenplast will be held tonight at 6:30pm ET/7:30pm AT. The event will air live on RDS, the QMJHL's official broadcasting partner. For the occasion, RDS will produce a special edition of its Hockey 360 television show.
Tonight's lottery will determine the order of the first five selections of the 2023 QMJHL Entry Draft, set to take place in Sherbrooke, QC next June.
An independent third party will supervise the lottery. The odds of winning the draw are based on each team's final ranking in the regular season's overall standings:
- 18th position | Chicoutimi (from Acadie-Bathurst) - 9 balls - 43%
- 17th position | Moncton (from Val-d'Or) - 6 balls - 28%
- 16th position | Blainville-Boisbriand - 3 balls - 14%
- 15th position | Val-d'Or (from Saint John) - 2 balls - 10%
- 14th position | Rimouski (from Charlottetown) - 1 ball - 5%
Once a team has been drawn, its remaining balls will be removed from the selection process. The same operation will be repeated following each draw. However, if the Chicoutimi Saguenéens are not drawn first or second, they will automatically be awarded the third overall selection. Additionally, the Moncton Wildcats cannot pick later than fourth overall due to their 17th place finish.
The 2023 QMJHL Entry Draft will be held at the Palais des Sports Léopold-Drolet in Sherbrooke, QC on June 10. The draft's first round will be broadcasted live on Eastlink Community TV as well as on CHL TV. Fenplast will once again be the presenting partner of the event.
