2018 NWHL Draft Pick Jenna Rheault Signs with the Boston Pride

Jenna Rheault, the 25th overall pick in the 2018 NWHL Draft, has signed with the Boston Pride after an impressive collegiate career on the blueline at New Hampshire.
"I want to thank the NWHL and the Boston Pride for giving me the opportunity to continue playing the sport I love so much and for giving me the platform to help advance women's hockey for future generations," said Rheault. "I am extremely honored and grateful."
Rheault will receive a salary of $7,500 for the upcoming season, partake in the 50 percent cut of revenue from league sponsorship and media deals, and receive 15 percent of revenue from apparel sold with her name on it.
"Jenna is a very capable all-zone defender who I expect will be a fixture in our lineup for years to come," said Boston head coach Paul Mara.
Rheault played four years at New Hampshire, becoming an integral part of the Wildcats' defensive corps and a scholarship athlete after joining the program as a walk-on. She finished her career with 6-18-24 in 143 games, including a career-high 10 points (2-8-10) as a senior. She also ranked second on the team with 50 blocked shots as a senior.
Her accomplished play also earned her three honors in her final two seasons at UNH. In her junior year, she won the school's Sue Merz 7th Player Award. As a senior she was the recipient of the Colleen Coyne Best Defender Award, along with the Tina True Award from UNH Athletics for "dedication to strength and conditioning."
"I have high hopes that playing for the Boston Pride will help me continue to develop as a defender, a teammate, and a person," said Rheault. "During this upcoming season, I want to be able to expand my role as a stay-at-home D and also work on enhancing the skills to help contribute offensively."
A native of Deering, New Hampshire, Rheault was a multisport athlete at St. Paul's school, earning Independent School League excellence awards in hockey, soccer and softball. She was also invited to USA Hockey Development Camp from 2009-12.
Rheault will be continuing her studies at UNH, working towards a Master's in occupational therapy.
"I want to thank my family, my previous club coaches, Laura Stamm Power Skating, my coaches at St. Paul's, my coaches at UNH, and my strength coaches at UNH for supporting me as a hockey player. Without you all, I wouldn't have ever made it to this point. I cannot wait to get the 2019-2020 season rolling. Go Boston!"
