2014 VooDoo Open Tryouts Set

NEW ORLEANS (January 2, 2014) - The New Orleans VooDoo will hold their second open tryout for the upcoming 2014 season. The tryout will be held on Saturday, January 25, at Tad Gormley Stadium in City Park in New Orleans.
"I am very excited about this open tryout," said Head Coach Pat O'Hara. "We had our most successful open tryout under my tenure as Head Coach in October.
The effort and enthusiasm was there, and we were able to sign two very talented athletes. I'm looking forward to another large turnout in January."
Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the tryout starting at 9:00 a.m. The registration fee is $60 and is due the day of the tryout in CASH. Players need to pre-register for the open tryouts and may do so by downloading the tryout waiver form and sending the completed forms to the VooDoo Football Operations Department via fax, at (504) 875-3906, or via email to tryouts@aflvoodoo.com. "We're limiting the number of persons to tryout," said Coach O'Hara, "so that we can give more attention to every person who tries out. Tryout spots are limited and are allocated based upon the completion of the waiver form." Once all tryout spots are filled, applicants will be turned away on the day of tryouts. The registration fee is non-refundable, and must be paid in CASH. Kickers ARE included in the open tryouts.
In addition to the registration fee, all participants will need to bring outdoor cleats to wear on a field turf surface, and other proper athletic attire for the outdoors. The tryout will consist of testing that includes the 40-yard dash and 20-yard short shuttle followed by specific arena football drills.
Those attending the tryout from outside the metro area and are looking for a hotel should contact the Ramada Inn in Metairie (504-835-4141) for special rates. The Ramada Inn has set aside a block of hotel rooms at a special rate while supplies last.
