The Coastal Plain League is excited to announce the 2014 All-CPL First and Second teams.

Each team features 21 players: one player per each infield position, three designated hitter/utility players, five outfielders, five starting pitchers and three relief pitchers. Between the two teams, 28 players were named to the 2014 CPL All-Star teams in mid-July, and 16 participated in the inaugural CPL Select Team vs. USA Collegiate National Team matchup held in early June.

The team is highlighted by 919 Marketing CPL Hitter of the Year Gene Cone, and Pitcher of the Year Michael Morrison, Jr., of Florence. Joining them are a number of standout talents, evident by seven 919 Marketing CPL Players of the Week. Those include first-teamers Ryan Raslowsky (Edenton, week 6), Anthony Marks (Asheboro, week 2), Kyle Kempf (Peninsula, week 10), Josh Raegan (Columbia, week 9), and Jose Roeder (Edenton, week 4), as well as second-teamers Ryan Otero (Gastonia, week 7) and Jared Cheek (Gastonia, week 3).

Also making the team were multiple category leaders: batting average (Gene Cone, .385), slugging percentage (Austin Crutcher, .558), on-base percentage (Anthony Marks, .476), runs scored (Weston Lawing, 44), hits (Gavin Stupienski and Weston Lawing, 66), runs batted in (Anthony Dimino and Gavin Stupienski, 42), doubles (Jeremy Wolf, 21), triples (P.J. Higgins, 4), home runs (Austin Crutcher, 11), total bases (Hunter Bryant, 101), stolen bases (Steven Linkous, 32), earned run average (Gunner Kines, 1.26), opposing batting average (Ryan Otero, .167), batters struck out (Jared Cheek, 69), and saves (Michael Morrison Jr., 18).

All 14 CPL clubs were represented, led by Peninsula with seven selections followed closely by Florence and Gastonia who each had five. Next was Columbia and Edenton with four a piece and Wilson and Wilmington with three each. Rounding out the field was a cluster in Asheboro, Fayetteville, Forest City, and Wilson who all had two ALL-CPL performers followed by Martinsville, Morehead City, and Petersburg with one representative each.
