2013 NBL Canada Draft to Be Held in Markham, ON

TORONTO, ON - The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that the 2013 NBL Canada Draft will be held at the Hilton Suites Conference Centre and Spa in Markham, Ontario on August 19th.
NBL Canada President & CEO, Andre Levingston, Chief Operating Officer, Ian McCarthy, the Honorable Mayor Frank Scarpitti of Markham, and Graeme Roustan, President & CEO of GTA Sports & Entertainment were in attendance at a press conference held today at the Hilton to make the announcement.
The NBL Canada held its draft in 2011 and 2012 in the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto. The Draft is streamed live on the internet and the players are selected from a live two day combine over the weekend.
"Markham is a beautiful city, and its perfectly situated in relation to the ACTS Athlete Institute and Toronto, so it was a no brainer," stated Levingston. "The Mayor, and Graeme Roustan, were extremely excited about bringing a premier professional sporting event to Markham and they helped make it happen."
The NBL Canada Draft will kick off at 7:00PM on August 19th and will be open to the public to attend. Fifty top prospects will be selected from the league's two day combine on Saturday and Sunday at the ACTS Athlete Institute in Orangeville, ON.
