With the kick-off of the New Year, the Harrisburg City Islanders are excited to announce their 2010 schedule.
Looking to build off a 12-9-4 overall record in 2009, the Islanders' front office has been busy preparing for another action packed season.
The United Soccer Leagues Second Division (USL-2) has once again been sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation, the governing body of soccer in the United States.
As a result, the Islanders, and the entire USL-2 will be incorporated into US Soccer's third division and eligible for the US Open Cup. With the level of professional soccer continuing to grow in the United States, you can certainly expect another exciting season.
In the off season, coaches Bill Becher and Steve Widdowson have been busy scouting new talent and are excited to start announcing returning and new players very soon! With so much off-season preparation, the Harrisburg City Islanders' are eager to open their seventh season on Saturday, April 17 on the road against defending champions the Richmond Kickers.
A week later, on April 24, they host Real Maryland in their home opener at Harrisburg's Skyline Sports Complex on City Island.
The Harrisburg City Islanders' regular season will consist of 20 games: ten home and ten away.
The Islanders will play each team twice at home and twice on the road.
Returning with the Islanders to the USL-2 are the Charlotte Eagles, Pittsburgh Riverhounds, Real Maryland Monarchs and the Richmond Kickers. The Charleston Battery will also join the USL-2 after competing in the USL-1 for thirteen seasons.
The Bermuda Hogges and the Western Mass Pioneers will both move down to the PDL and Crystal Palace Baltimore will play in the USL Conference of a new league.
All regular season home games will be held on Saturdays at 7:00pm at the Skyline Sports Complex on City Island.
Gates will open at 5:30pm. Each game will be sure to feature the summer fun you've come to expect from the Islanders: food from your favorite area vendors, the City Islanders' merchandise stand, Tiki's Kids' Cove, and post-game autographs with your Harrisburg City Islanders.
This season will also feature the Second Annual Beach Bash and 3v3 Surf 'n Turf Tournament.
In addition, the Islanders are reserving space now for group nights.

Season Tickets On Sale
With the regular season schedule finalized, it's time to purchase your 2010 Harrisburg City Islanders season tickets! The City Islanders will host ten regular season games at City Island's Skyline Sports Complex and you won't want to miss a match!
Now is the time to reserve regular season tickets in the VIP Reserved seating section at midfield. Midfield seats are reserved for season ticket holders only and feature some of the best vantage points for watching your Harrisburg City Islanders in action! Or you may choose to enjoy the game from the private Socceritaville deck which overlooks the field and features a festive, fun atmosphere complete with cold beer for fans of age.
It's also time to reserve the Surf City Party Zone, it is a fun environment for your next group or business outing! The private section located on the corner of the field can be customized to fit your group's needs.
