2007 NB ZIP MLL Championship Weekend in Rochester

Boston, MA (June 21, 2007) - Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced today that the 2007 NB ZIP MLL Championship Weekend will take place at PAETEC Park in Rochester on August 25 and 26, according to MLL Commissioner David Gross. The semi-final games will be held at 2:00 PM ET and 5:00 PM ET on Saturday, August 25. The two semi-final winners will advance to the NB ZIP MLL Championship Game on Sunday, August 26. The Championship Game will air live on ESPN2 at 1:00 PM.

Tickets for both days of NB ZIP MLL Championship Weekend are already on sale. A complete weekend package is only $30, with discounts available for youths and groups of 20 or more. Single game packages begin at $20 per day. For more information, contact the Rattlers ticket office at (585) 454-5425.

The playoff format will repeat the 2006 season as winners from each conference, Eastern and Western, advance to NB ZIP MLL Championship Weekend. Two wild card spots are awarded to the two teams with the next best regular season records, regardless of conference. The conference winner with the better record plays the wild card team with the lesser record in one Semi-Final game, with the remaining conference winner and wild card team facing off in the other Semi-Final.

In 2006, the Boston Cannons, Denver Outlaws, Philadelphia Barrage and San Francisco Dragons advanced to the NB ZIP MLL Championship Weekend. The Barrage won their second MLL title, beating the Outlaws 23-12 in the New Balance Championship Game. Roy Colsey was named the game's Bud Light MVP after scoring six goals (two two-pointers) and handing out a pair of assists. It was Philadelphia's second title in three years as they beat Boston in the 2004 New Balance Championship Game.
